Our story
Born from a Lifetime in Music
Every Good Band Does Fundraising was founded by a lifelong musician who watched talented students walk away from music — not because they lacked passion, but because they couldn't afford to stay.
Why EGBDF?
Every young musician learns the same five notes first: E-G-B-D-F — the lines of the treble clef staff. The mnemonic "Every Good Boy Does Fine" has helped students remember those notes for generations. We took that same foundational phrase and made it a promise: Every Good Band Does Fundraising. Because just like those five notes are the foundation of musical literacy, financial support is the foundation of musical opportunity.
The five lines of the treble clef — and the five words of our promise.
Our Mission: F.A.C.E.
Just as F-A-C-E represents the spaces on the musical staff where creativity begins, our mission is built on four core principles that guide everything we do.
The four spaces of the treble clef — the spaces where music lives.
Foster Access
We work to eliminate financial barriers by connecting students and families with effective fundraising tools, community partnerships, and donor networks that expand access to music education.
Amplify Opportunity
We empower high school music programs with resources that strengthen participation — supporting everything from instruments and uniforms to travel, lessons, and performance experiences.
Cultivate Community
We unite students, families, educators, and supporters to build a collaborative ecosystem where fundraising becomes shared, strategic, and sustainable.
Elevate Every Musician
We help young performers maximize their potential by ensuring that financial limitations never silence talent, passion, or ambition.
At EGBDF, F.A.C.E. isn't just a mnemonic — it's our commitment to shaping a future where every young musician has the space to succeed.
A Founder's Note
I've been a musician my entire life. I've sat in rehearsal halls, marched on football fields, and performed on stages large and small. Music didn't just shape my career — it shaped who I am.
But over the years, I watched something troubling unfold in American music education. The costs kept rising — instruments, uniforms, travel, private lessons, competition fees — and families were left to figure it out on their own. Talented, passionate students were dropping out of programs not because they lost interest, but because the financial burden became too great.
I started EGBDF because I believe every student who wants to play deserves the chance to play. Not just the ones whose families can afford it. Every. Single. One.
This organization exists to make sure that no student has to choose between their love of music and their family's budget. We're here to help programs fundraise smarter, connect with donors who care, and give every young musician the support they need to thrive.

What We Stand For
Equity
Every student deserves access to music education, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.
Community
We believe music programs thrive when students, families, schools, and donors work together toward a shared goal.
Transparency
Every dollar raised is tracked, reported, and used exactly as intended — students and donors always know where the money goes.
Empowerment
We don't just hand out funds — we give programs the tools, strategies, and connections to sustain themselves long-term.
